Jason, I met you the other night at the Compass Conference! Great web site!
I haven't had time yet to fully explore it yet, but I am really looking
forward to a great experience. I am young in Christ (2 months), tho' old in
earthy days (62 yrs). I will read your information on fasting. Lately the
Lord has been putting this idea in front of my face a lot lately, even in
the Sunday Sermon this week. God bless you and your minisrty.

I read your comment about Jesus and wine. There are two kinds of wine. The
kind that is not fermented, and the kind that is fermented. The kind that is
fermented.
Proverbs 20:1 states "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and
whosoerver is deceived thereby is not wise." KJV.
Jesus could not, neither would not, contridicte the word of God. He came in
the volume of the book to do God's will (Hebrews 10:7). Therefore, when
dealing with a topic such as this, one must rightly divide the word of truth
(2 Timothy 2:15) Jesus always warns about a little leaven and leaven of the
Pharisees which represents sin. Leaven is what brings about fermentation in
wine. The fermentation in wine brings about sin. Things that bring about sin
we are exhort to abstain from. Therefore, why would Jesus use or provide
things that bring about sin. The wine He used at the last supper represented
His blood, sinless blood for our atonement. To provide anything otherwise
the sacrifice could not be perfect, we would have no atonement.
When Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:23, this was not a validation for use
of fermented wine or strong drink as people today try to use as an excuse.
The water was bad, which is why a lot of eastern cultures, even to this day
in certain places use wine customarily. You can get sick from the water.
Through the ages the process and use of water may have changed.
I hope this helps your understanding. May God continue to bless you.

If illegal drugs are "evil" in the moral-spiritual sense as you describe,
then that means that alcohol was once "evil"(during the American prohibition
period). Yet, clearly this cannot be so as Jesus participated in the
consumtion wine at the Last Supper; this is explicitly why Catholics have
wine at communion. Clearly then, simply because something is "illegal", does
not mean it is "evil". Laws change and evolve over time, does that mean that
God's sanction evolves with the laws of man? American law (or any nation's
law for that matter) and God's will are not synonymous.

I am a recently born again Christian. I was drove to my knees through pain
and suffering. After 3 days of pray he came into my presence and dumped all
the shame and the guilt along with the fear that had been overwhelming me
for quite some time. It was the greatest relief I had ever experienced. I
was explained alot of things that always had me confused. like why I did the
things that I did to hurt myself. After my rebirth and spiritual awakening I
had realized that I had finally after 23years of being ruled by the ruler of
the kingdom of the air that I finally had the power thanks be to Gods grace
to break free from the darkness and enter back into the kingdom of God. I
feel that I had met some type of fullfillment which was a very hard road
getting to it. I am very grateful for all God has done for me. And after my
rebirth I had become very spiritual. Although I feel my spirituality
slipping and I am getting very worried because it is a life and death
situation. If you could help me I would greatly appreciate it. P.S. I am a
recovering cross addicted alcoholic. Sincerely, Donald Allen Francis II
