This year's Steeling the Mind Conference was another, great success.  Andy Day led some awesome worship and a number of excellent speakers blessed us with their messages.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to hear every speaker.  Besides the men listed below, Mike Gendron (Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries), Gary Frazier (Discovery Ministries), and Gerald Robison (Unveiling Glory Ministries) also lectured.

Mike Riddle (Answers in Genesis) - "UFOs and the Bible"

You cannot get to Heaven without something free.

Jimmy Carter believes in aliens and thinks he saw a UFO.

20 million Americans say they've been abducted by aliens.

To many, Jesus' name is the scariest thing of all.

Many have tried to outlaw Jesus' name because it is so scary to them.

CNN polls say UFOs exist.

Some believe a NASA photo shows a face on Mars.

Some believe we have a UFO from the incident in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.

The underlying part of the search for extra-terrestrial life is evolution.

NASA's Astrobiology Institute looks for extra-terrestrial life in space.

At the Universities of Washington and Colorado, you can get graduate degrees and certificates in Astrobiology.

How can you get a graduate degree in something that does not exist?

To date, not even one transmission has been received from space.

According to evolution, just add energy and some ingredients and you can create life.

Evolutionists say, "If I can create life, then I can prove that no intelligence was necessary to create life."

Life cannot start with the presence of oxygen.

When we take the oxygen out of the atmosphere, we take the ozone out of the atmosphere.  When that happens, the Earth becomes so hot that the Sun destroys any potential life on it.

Water is one of the worst places in the universe for life to start.

Science fiction has crept into our science courses.

The highest concentration of UFOs have been reported near Area 51.

Jimmy carter claimed that he'd reveal all sorts of evidence for UFOs after he was elected, but he never did.

Upon closer examination, the face on Mars didn't look much like a face because of the accumulation of dust.  However, there could very well be a face there, created by God, but now obscured by centuries of dust.

Why do the alleged aliens always give us a new age, philosophical, and religious message, but never technology to help?

If aliens exist, they were created during the 6 days of creation.  Therefore, they haven't had any additional time to create spacecrafts and such.

If there are any other lifeforms out there, they are under the curse, too.

God makes no provision to redeem any other species; not even fallen angels.

If aliens exist, they have no chance to be redeemed and saved.

If you don't know the truth, you can be easily deceived into believing anything.

Larry Vardiman (The Institute for Creation Research) - "The RATE Project: Thousands Not Billions"

RATE = Radio isotopes and the Age of the Earth

The age of the Earth is the basis for evolution.

The theory of evolution degrades the validity of the Bible.

Assumptions of radioisotope dating: there was no daughter element, the decay rate today has always been the same, closed system

Some RATE Hypotheses:

There was accelerated decay during Creation, at the Curse, and during the Flood.

Some daughter elements may be primordial.

Radioactive processes have produced evidence of accelerated decay.

Three evidences of accelerated decay are helium diffusion rates, radio halo studies, and isochron discordance.

Helium diffusion rates show the Earth is young.

1.5 billion years of nuclear decay occurred between 4,000 and 8,000 years ago.

Chuck Missler (Koinonia House) - "Bio Tech or Bio Terror?"

Christians should be experts on the Bible.

Global Health Status

Scientists had predicted that all diseases would be eradicated, now they predict a pandemic will occur.

Diseases thought to be obsolete have once again become a global threat.

Bacterial Communication

Quorum Sensing - bacteria won't attack you until they sense they have enough to overpower you.

There are 80,000,000 gun owners in the U.S and 700,000 doctors.  According to accidental death statistics, the accidental deaths by doctors are 19 times greater than the number of accidental deaths by guns.

There is no such thing as a simple cell.

Cells have unparalleled complexity and adaptive design.

When does tampering with an embryo become murder?

Is it acceptable to clone a baby to save a child's life?

When does life begin?

Zero embryonic stem cells have helped people.  However, the number of adult stem cells that have helped people are in the thousands.  They have helped people such as cancer victims and paraplegics.

On March 20, 2006, Iran is converting its mercantile exchange to euros instead of dollars.

70% of U.S. dollars are in foreign banks.

On March 21, foreign banks can release their dollars and obtain only euros.  This will make the dollars find their way back to the U.S. and it will also cause domestic inflation.

It is believed that Al Qaida has nuclear weapons in the U.S., now.  They control most of the world's heroin and make lots of money from it.

There has never been a greater love poem than the one in 1 Corinthians 13.

The first time Jesus came, He rode on the foal of an ass.  When He returns again, He'll be riding a white horse, with hundreds of millions of glorified saints.

Jesus will come to do war against the enemies of God.

God has changed the names of many different people.

After man sinned, God put a curse on creation.

God pointed to a day when Jesus would redeem humankind.

All of creation is in bondage to decay.

There will never be peace until the Prince of Peace returns.

The Jews are still God's chosen people.

Satan hates the Jews with a passion because they gave the world the Bible and the Messiah.

The Jews have been persecuted and ridiculed, but one day all will know that they are God's chosen people.

The source of all evil in the world is the fallen heart of man.

The Bible contradicts humanism.  It tells us that evil comes from within.

You can't change people just by changing their environment.  Change must come by the spirit and power of God.

Two people were given a perfect world, a perfect environment, and they could not remain perfect.

Plain sense makes sense.  If you try and change what makes sense, you'll get nonsense.

Are you an overcomer?

Revelation 22:4 says we will see God's face.  This indicates how we'll have an intimate relationship with Him.

Kent Hovind (Creation Science Evangelism) - "The Dangers of Evolution"

The evolution theory is the dumbest and most dangerous religious view in the history of humanity.

He has debated over 100 professors who are all smarter than him, but he has won every time because he is right and they are wrong.

If evolution is true, where is the standard for right and wrong?

Natural selection doesn't create anything.  It only selects.

Since the 1950's, when evolution was inserted into the textbooks, violent crimes is up over 1,000%.

All the evidence for evolution has been proven wrong.

Evolution is all about worshipping the creation instead of the Creator.

Evolution is the foundation of humanism.

A humanist is a person who believes man is god.

The full name of Darwin's "Origin of Species" book is actually, "The Origin of Species: The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life."

Evolutionism furthers racism.

Kingsley was a very racist priest who promoted Darwin.

Eskimos and aborigines have a larger, denser jaw than other humans.  Some have said they are less evolved, but others know their jaws are bigger and denser due to extended use.

At the beginning of settlement, there were 300,000 aborigines in Australia.  They faced mass extinction by whites, though.  The Smithsonian Institute has 33,000 skulls of aborigines because they believed they were less evolved ancestors of humans.

Teddy Roosevelt believed the American Indians were an inferior race.

If you feel that you're superior because of the color of your skin, your wrong and you aren't right with God.

Darwin thought man was superior to women.  He said, "A married man is a poor man, worse than a negro."

Evolution is the foundation philosophy for Nazism.

In "The Pink Swastika", it is revealed that the first books that Hitler's army burned, four days after he took power, were books from counseling sessions that contained revealing facts about Hitler's military and their homosexuality.

It has been estimated that 90% of Hitler's army were homosexuals.

Since his youth, Hitler was captivated by evolution.

20% of the world's population has been executed by abortions.

In 1938, Hitler was Time Magazine's Man of the Year.

Hitler said, "I regard Christianity as the most fatal lie that ever existed."

There were Nazi baptisms and Nazi altars.

The Germans and Belgians divided the Rwandan people into the Tutsis and Hutus, based on the darkness of their skin.  This caused terrible unrest between the two and in 1994, 800,000 were killed.

The Japanese treated the American and British prisoners of war terribly because they thought they were an inferior race.

Karl Marx was heavily influenced by Darwin and pattern his writings after Darwin's writings.

Karl Marx said his goal was to dethrone God.

Several of Marx's kids died from starvation.

When Karl Marx died, only six people came to his funeral.

In 1942, Joseph Stalin was nominated for Time Magazine's Man of the Year.

Don't get nervous.  Get busy.

We are supposed to be the salt of the Earth.  Salt irritates.  Don't try and irritate, but be salty and that will irritate the world.

The average American watches over 1500 hours of television every year.  One could read the Bible 22 times in 1500 hours!

What is your cause?  What do you live for?

Win souls.  Nothing else will matter in 1,000 years.
