JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) "Leading People to Jesus Christ" Matthew 28:19, 20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen." Matthew 16:24-27 "Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works." 2 Timothy 4:1-5 "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." Insight: All Christians should be actively leading people to Jesus Christ for salvation and eternal life. We know how wonderful it is to be saved and our joy should spill over into the lives of others. Pray for courage and boldness so you can obey the Great Commission and lead others to Christ. Prayer: "Dear Lord, thank you for being worthy of our praise and devotion. Thanks for loving us so much. Help us to testify to others about You. Help us to have courage and tell others about You, so they can be saved. Thank you for saving us! Thank you for forgiving and redeeming us. There is no other like You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
On January 24, 1986, Miranda, a moon of Uranus, was photographed today by the Voyager 2 space probe. A complex surface was found, including long parallel ridges which look somewhat like plowed furrows. There is also a large checkmark feature on the moon’s surface, 100 miles in size. Because of its markings, Miranda is perhaps the most poorly understood moon in the solar system. Space discoveries reveal a creation which is complex beyond imagination. This excerpt was taken from Donald DeYoung's book called, "365 Fascinating Facts From the World of Discovery."
God wants us to either change, act, or both every time we hear His Word.
Lead someone to Jesus Christ! Begin praying for the opportunity. God will open a door for you to tell someone about His Son. Be prepared to share your testimony and why Jesus means so much to you and what He has done for your life. Don't worry about their response because God will bless you for your obedience and take care of the details. May God richly bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Exodus 33:20 - Immediately after being told about Moses' face to face encounter with God, we are told that it never could have happened, since, as God explains to Moses, "no man can see me, and live." "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: This passage is correct and so is Exodus 33:11. "Face to face" is a metaphor and the words were used figuratively. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Dr. Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
Our passport has already been stamped by Heaven. We will seek the qualities of Christ that we find most appealing. The church should be about the cross, not the pulpit. The world's acceptance of us is always conditional. God's rules never change. Some of us don't act like a new creation because we don't feel like one. Let values not emotions guide your decisions. Real freedom is a license to serve. Our license to serve hills apathy and selfishness. We're free from punishment, the power of sin, and the presence of sin. The mature Christian doesn't ask how much he or she can get away with. Churches aren't simply places full of Jesus' buddies, but they are places where rescue workers give refugees help and love. Don't rest until God's vision for your life is complete. Do something that will impact eternity. If you'd like to read more wise quotes, you can either visit our Quotations Archive or get a copy of Dr. Gastrich's book called, "10,000 Wise Quotes and Spiritual Sayings"! It's the largest collection of Bible-based quotations in the world.
