"Use the Newest Technology For Christ"

Matthew 28:19, 20  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'  Amen."

Luke 19:47, 48  "And He was teaching daily in the temple.  But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him."

2 Timothy 4:1, 2  "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word!  Be ready in season and out of season.  Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching."

Insight: The internet and all of the latest devices should be used to bring God glory and the Word of God to people.  Christians should be on the cutting edge of technology, so we can discover how to use it to bless others and increase the kingdom of God.

Prayer: "Dear Lord, bless us and help us to be like You.  Forgive our sins and lift us up.  Thank you for the amazing new breakthroughs in technology.  Help us to discover how to use everything for your glory.  Forgive us for being complacent and forgive us for only using it for our own gain or amusement.  Give us visions of your will, so we can do it and bless You and others.  In Jesus' name, Amen."

America's Foundation

Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoi (1828-1910), was a renowned Russian writer and playwright. In War and Peace, 1865-1869, book XIV, chapter 18 he wrote:

"For us, with the rule of right and wrong given us by Christ, there is nothing for which we have no standard. And there is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness and truth."

In describing President Abraham Lincoln after his death, Count Leo Tolstoi, declared him: "A Christ in miniature."

A Moment of Introspection

The more we fill our hearts and minds with God's Word, the more it will come out of our mouths and lives.

JCSM's Challenge

Find a way to use new technology to glorify God and bless others.  You could make a simple web page with a free company like live.com, myspace.com, or youtube.com.  On your web page, you could quote scriptures, add links to your favorite Christian sites, etc.  This is just one idea of many that you could use, but please contact us if you need more ideas.

May God richly bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

Word of the Week

kerusso (Greek, see 2 Timothy 4:2): to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel), preach, proclaim, publish

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims:

Exodus 24:9-10 - Moses, Aaron, and seventy of their companions saw God. How could this have happened if no one has ever seen God?

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds:

The word "saw" is used figuratively.  God was only seen through a cloud and this is verified by the rest of the chapter (see verse 16).

* The word "saw" in verse 11 is explicitly used like this: "to mentally perceive, to have a vision."  They did not literally see God.

(This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Dr. Jason Gastrich.  This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org.  There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)

Quotes of the Week

There are no new quotes this week, but if you like wise quotations you'll want a copy of Dr. Gastrich's book called, "10,000 Wise Quotes and Spiritual Sayings"!  It's the largest collection of Bible-based quotations in the world.
