Hello! I hope you had an excellent weekend. Phil Wickham plays a concert at his home church this Wednesday. Maranatha Chapel in San Diego will be featuring him and his band. If you'd like more details, please contact us. It's not too late to join JCSM's Fantasy Football league! We have a few teams registered, but we'd be happy to have a few more. If you'd like more information about how you can join our free league, please click here for more information or just click here to sign up (Note: You'll need to use your or sign up for a free Yahoo account in order to play). On Tuesday, Electronic Arts is releasing their next installment in the Madden game series. Madden 2007 is supposed to be another exciting game. If you're a football fan with a game system, you'll want to check it out. Over the next month or two, I'm going to be looking for a soccer team to coach. I'd like to coach either boys junior varsity or boys varsity soccer at a local high school in San Diego. Please pray that I can find the best one for me (e.g. close to home, with a good program, etc.) and for them. My first of two diets is ending this week. I'm 2-3 pounds away from my first goal weight (which is about 17.5% body fat and 15 pounds lighter than before). Please pray that I persevere with this diet, then with the next. I'm taking a break for a week or two in between diets. Thanks very much to those who have prayed. One of my Christian relatives is suffering from kidney stones. He is on some powerful pain medication and needs your prayers. Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich, Ph.D. Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) 1 Corinthians 1:17, 18 "For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Galatians 6:14 "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." Colossians 1:19, 20 "For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross." Hebrews 12:1, 2 "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Insight: If we are to be saved, we must trust in Jesus Christ's sacrificial and atoning death on the cross. Without this shedding of blood, there can be no remission of our sin. Eternal life begins at the cross of Christ. Prayer: "Dear Lord, thank you for loving us and thank you for giving your life for us. There is no other like You! Bless us and lift us up. Make us like You. Give us your qualities and forgive our sins. Thank you for loving us more than we can understand or comprehend. Increase our faith in You. Remove our worries and fears. Help us to understand the pain You went through to love us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
The First Amendment, December 15, 1791, was added to the Constitution of the United States of America, along with nine other amendments, which together compose The Bill of Rights. The First Amendment reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." ¹ ¹ December 15, 1791. Eat your vitamins! We all need lots of essential vitamins to function. Most of our diets do not contain enough of them, though. Analyze what you eat and replenish yourself with the necessary vitamins. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Exodus 10:4-5 - Eighth plague: locusts that are so thick that they "covered the face of the whose earth." (Even over Antarctica?) "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: Exodus 10:4-5 doesn't say locusts covered the "whole earth." It says they covered the earth. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Dr. Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
God has made us to be special. Until we embrace the Creator, we'll only worship the creation. Don't miss out on what God created you to enjoy. God sees; even in the dark. You blink 20,000 times a day, without even thinking about it. These quotes came from Bob Botsworth, me, and the Holy Spirit's inspiration.
