Hello! I hope you had a great weekend. I'm happy to announce that JCSM will be returning to San Diego! On November 1, my wife and I will be moving our ministry back to the place where it all began. I'm currently looking for office space, so if you have some available or know of someone who does (e.g. a room in a church or business complex), please let me know. Our next Missions, Apologetics, and Creation Bible Conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 14. It will feature lectures by Dr. Kent Hovind, Dr. Chuck Missler, and myself. Click here for more details and to sign up. It will be freely broadcasted on the internet, so you'll be able to watch it on and after that date, anywhere in the world. This Sunday night, Tree63 is playing a free concert at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. They are an excellent band and if you're nearby, I highly recommend hearing them. Harvest isn't our regular church, but we may make the hour drive for the concert and message by Greg Laurie. My trip to Catalina with Sarine went very well. Thanks to those who wished me a happy birthday! Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich, Ph.D. Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) Mark 10:13-16 "Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.' And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them." Matthew 8:8-13 "The centurion answered and said, 'Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' Then Jesus said to the centurion, 'Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.' And his servant was healed that same hour." Matthew 9:20-22 "And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, 'If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.' But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, 'Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.' And the woman was made well from that hour." Luke 17:5 "And the apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'" Insight: Faith is an integral quality for the Christian. We must have faith in God, like a child, and we must cultivate that faith by putting it into practice. Plus, we must learn all we can about God and Jesus Christ, so we can trust Him more; as we cannot fully trust someone we do not know. Prayer: "Dear Lord, bless us and increase our faith. Thank you for giving us a measure of faith and belief in You. Remove our worries and fears. Give us great peace and understanding. Thank you for being good and holy. There is no other like You! Thank you for the biblical examples of believers having faith. Let our faith be as an example to others as well. Praise You for being real and amazing. In Jesus' name, Amen."

In order to trust God more, you must know Him more. You cannot fully trust someone you do not know. Therefore, you need to read the Bible and learn from Bible teachers, so you can trust the Creator more. Read and study the Bible! Either have a personal plan (e.g. Bible study) or go to church, bring your Bible, and a notepad and pen. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Exodus 10:1 - God hardens Pharaoh's heart for the fifth time. But this contradicts 1 Samuel 6:6, which says that the Pharaoh hardened his own heart. "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: The Egyptians were unrepentant sinners. They had foreign gods and enslaved the Israelites. God hardened Pharaoh's heart, but he had hardened his own heart, too. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Dr. Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
