Hello! I hope you had a great week and Mother's Day weekend. As you read in our midweek message, God has inspired me to do all I can to double JCSM's daily readership in the next 30 days, without using paid advertisements. Already, with His help and blessings, I've been able to increase the daily average page views by about 25%. Please do all you can to help bring more people to our web site. If you will pray about this endeavor, God will give you some ideas. This is all we ask because sending people to JCSM will certainly be a blessing to them and to us. Thanks to everyone who prayed for my Mom's outpatient surgery. It went very well. She is home and recovering and preparing to return to work this week. This week, P.O.D. is playing a concert in Hollywood. There are still good tickets available. Email me if you're going because my wife and I will be there. Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich, Ph.D. Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) Psalm 46:1-3 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah." Proverbs 25:21, 22 "If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to
eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for so you will heap
coals of fire on his head, Matthew 7:6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." Matthew 18:8, 9 "If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire." 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 "Do not be unequally yoked together with
unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?
And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has
Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an
unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?
For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: 'I will
dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, James 3:13-17 "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy." Insight: Christians are called to be people of character and integrity. God holds us to high standards. When your enemies attack you, know what God would have you say and do. He will bless you, give you wisdom, and strengthen you in your time of need. Prayer: "Dear Lord, bless us. Give us wisdom and godliness. Show us if we have relationships that need to end. Give us spiritual insight. Thank you for loving us so much. There is no other like You. Thank you for wanting us to have intimate relationships with like-minded believers who truly love You and act like real Christians. Let us do your will and follow your lead. Increase our faith in You and increase our love for You and others. Give us courage and great spiritual strength. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Sir James Hopwood Jeans (1877-1946), was an
English physicist and astronomer, who studied the nature of gases and sun
radiations. Educated at Cambridge, he went on to become a professor at
Princeton in the area of applied mathematics. In his work, The Mysterious
Universe, 1930, Sir James Hopwood Jeans stated: If you'd like to see more quotes from those that framed and founded America, please click here: http://jcsm.org/AmericasFounders/.
Do you want to be happier? This week, every day, write down three things that went right. They will help elevate your mood. Also, don't forget to give God the glory.

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Exodus 3:22 - God tells the Hebrew women to break the eighth commandment. "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: The Hebrews had been slaves of the Egyptians for many years. This command from God doesn't involve stealing. It involves retribution. This Hebrew word for "plunder" is also interpreted "recover." The Egyptians had taken what was not theirs - the Hebrews' time and possessions. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
Prayerfully consider Christian education. If you're trying to help someone and they don't think you're helping them, then you probably aren't. Without God's grace and mercy, where would we be? Afraid of death? Jesus gives you hope. He doesn't expect us to clean up completely before approaching Him. He expects us to come to Him and He will clean us up. Do you want to forget about your problems? Find a bigger problem. Common enemies bring diverse people together. If you'd like to read more quotes, we have thousands in our archive!
