If you are considering donating to help build a house for a homeless person in Mexico, we appreciate it. Our missions trip is set for January 28th. So far, we have $0 (yes, zero) for this project and we need $750. Please prayerfully consider helping us put a roof over a poor family's head. I'll try and provide some pictures of past trips in next week's devotions.

On Saturday, FishFest tickets went on sale! If you're in Southern California, you won't want to miss the Newsboys, Delirious, Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, and several others. They will be playing in Irvine on March 26. Let us know if you're going and we can meet up!

If you're in or near San Diego, you may want to hear Riley Armstrong perform at San Diego Christian College. He's a gifted, humorous Christian musician. His band has been featured at Spirit West Coast and they've been a blessing to me and my wife.

"Remember What God Has Done"

Judges 8:33, 34 "So it was, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel again played the harlot with the Baals, and made Baal-Berith their god. Thus the children of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side."

Psalm 20:6-9 "Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call."

Psalm 42:5-8 "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, and from the heights of Hermon,

Insight: Don't forget to remember what God has done for you. It would help to make a list and continually add to it. You never want to forget His blessings and you should always be praising Him for His provision. Our God is an awesome God.

Prayer: "Dear Lord, thank you for blessing us so much. Thank you for being faithful to us. There is no other like You. Bless us, increase our ministry, lay your hand on us, and keep us from evil. Help us to continually recall your blessings. Let us praise You for them, too. Praise You for being good to us. Thank you for wanting us to know You more. Please increase our faith in You. Increase our love for You and for others. In Jesus' name, Amen."

A Moment of Introspection

How do you react when a homeless or poor person on the street asks you for money?

JCSM's Challenge

For some time, an unbeliever named David Horn has tried to be a menace to JCSM and to Christianity in general. He describes himself as a non-practicing Jew, but he is very partial to atheists and hostile to believers. Fortunately, we have God on our side and He has always prospered and protected us.

Please pray for David. He has some serious issues and needs to get saved. He does read the devotions each week (even if it's apparently only to criticize), so that's a step in the right direction.

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims:

Genesis 46:21 - There are four lists of Benjamin's sons in the Bible, and none of them agree. This one lists ten sons, Num.26:38-40, 1 Chr.7:6 lists three, and 1 Chr.8:1-2 lists five. Only one son (Bela) is found in all four lists.

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds:

None of these passages claims to have an exhaustive or exclusive list. Therefore, we can safely conclude that all of the people listed are his sons.
