Hello! I hope you had a great week. Do you need a home equity loan? Your equity is your credit! Visit http://equityhomeloanscredit.com to get more information on how you can get the loan you need. There is no obligation, so even if you're just curious, please go and check out (and send your friends to) our newest site: http://equityhomeloanscredit.com. Kevin Max, one of the founding members of DC Talk, is releasing his second solo album on Tuesday. I've heard some songs from it and they are very good. If you're interested in a thoughtful, alternative Christian album, this one will probably be worth a good listen. On Friday and Saturday, Spirit West Coast will have their first hardcore Christian music festival! It will take place in Chino, California. For more details, see http://www.spiritwestcoast.org/swcrocksthepark or read our midweek message this Wednesday. Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) Deuteronomy 5:7 "You shall have no other gods before Me." Psalm 46:10a "Be still and know that I am God." John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Luke 10:38-42 "Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, 'Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.' And Jesus answered and said to her, 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.'" 2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 3:5 "(Some will) have a form of godliness but deny its power. And from such people turn away!" Insight: Many of us are getting ripped off. We have accepted a form of Christianity where we don't worship God, we rarely pray to Him, and we only partially obey Him. If you suffer from this form of godliness, then repent and do all you can to live a Christ-like life and you'll be blessed and rewarded as you love the one who loves you the most. Prayer: "Dear Lord, increase our love for You and increase our faith in You. You are our awesome God and there is no other like You. Forgive our sins. Help us to see our sins and repent from them. We just want to be like You. Help us to set aside time to worship You, read the Bible, pray, and meditate on You and your Word. Thank you for being faithful to us. Thank you for wanting us to know You more. Help us to be freed from the chains that the world tries to put on us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
There is no new quote this week. However, if you'd like to numerous quotes from those that framed and founded America, please click here and see one of our sites: http://jcsm.org/AmericasFounders/.
I have a subscription to the Los Angeles Times newspaper and I read it about 4-5 times a week. I skip some articles, scan others, and read all of the ones that interest me. The following came from an article about a BlackBerry - a handheld device that holds phone numbers and serves as a miniature computer. A Democratic, political strategist was quoted saying, "My BlackBerry is part of me - it is essentially an additional appendage, a third arm that allows me to always be in touch." A couple more quotes from the same article read, "Without my BlackBerry, I'd crawl into my close and shiver," and "I depend on mine day and night." Statements like these made me remember how we need God and nothing else like this. Don't get ripped off and make sure "God is your BlackBerry."
Take stock of your life and make sure you aren't getting ripped off. If there is an area such as worship, Bible study, or holy living that you need to improve, then seek God and do it. Otherwise, you'll be getting ripped off. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Genesis 34:30 - Jacob complains that his sons' actions have caused him "to stink among the inhabitants of the land." "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: This Hebrew word for "stink" also means "morally reprehensible." However, in 1611, "stink" was probably a suitable word. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and explains over 3,000 difficulties regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
There are only two teams. Jesus Christ is God; the cosmic Creator and Redeemer of all life. Jesus Christ is the only hope for a redeemed, restored, and reconciled world. There is no neutral ground in the universe: every square inch, every split second, is claimed by God and counter-claimed by Satan. Don't let the world frame how you think. Don't think that Jesus cannot relate to you or certain areas of your life. He created all things and He also walked this Earth. These quotes came from me, the Holy Spirit, C.S. Lewis, and Tim Osborn. If you'd like to read more quotes, we have thousands in our archive! Visit http://quotes.jcsm.org.
