Hello! I hope you had a great weekend. We've created a new web page at JCSM. It's called "15 Minutes of Fame." This new page is for people to ask questions about the Bible's inerrancy. By and large, unbelievers and atheists question me because I've written a full and complete rebuttal to an exhaustive collection of alleged Bible errors. If you'd like to read some of the questions and answers or submit a question of your own, please go to http://jcsm.org/15minutes/. I've received one question so far and I'll post it and the answer soon. If you live in the Southern California area, you'll want to see Switchfoot's free concert on the Santa Monica pier. The first 300 people will be allowed to see it, tonight. Good luck! If you miss the show, make sure you pick up their new album, tomorrow. I know these guys and they come from a solid church in San Diego and they truly love God. Their appeal to non-Christians is supernatural, so let's pray for them, their ministry, and the success of their newest album called, "Nothing is Sound." This week, our daughter Jordan is turning three years old. Please pray that she continues to grow and develop as she should. If you'd like to see her, there are some pictures and videos on her web site: http://jordanfaith.com. Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) "Jesus and the Little Children" Psalm 34:11 "Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD." Luke 18:15-17 "Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Mark 5:41, 42 "Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, 'Talitha, cumi,' which is translated, 'Little girl, I say to you, arise.' Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement." 1 John 3:1a "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!" Insight: Jesus cared for the little children. He loved them, wanted them to approach Him, and even raised them from the dead. Pray for the little children and do what you can to follow Jesus' example and bless them. Prayer: "Dear Lord, thank you for the little children in our lives. Bless them and keep them strong and safe. Help us to find ways to bless them more and more. Give us patience with them and help us to see them as You see them. Thank you for being good to us and for wanting us as your children. Let us treat You as a good father and love You as You have loved us. Praise You for being good and for being like no other. In Jesus' name, Amen."
There is no new quote this week. However, we have numerous quotes from our founders and framers on our web site! Please see http://jcsm.org/AmericasFounders/.
If Jesus was concerned about the children, should we be?
Pray for the children. Try and find a way to bless them. Listen for God's voice and heed His Spirit's call. JCSM supports three kids in Kenya through Compassion International. For just $84/month, we help all three of them with the costs of living and education. If you'd like more information on how you can help kids around the world through Compassion International (where over 90% of the proceeds go directly to the kids), please contact us. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
paheedeeon (Greek, see Luke 18:16): a childling (of either sex), an infant or half grown boy or girl, figuratively an immature Christian
The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Genesis 31:53 - Jacob swears. God doesn't seem to mind. but swearing is forbidden in Mt.5:34-37 and Jas.5:12. "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: This Hebrew word that was translated "swear," in the KJV, can also be translated "declare." (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and explains over 3,000 difficulties regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
There are no new quotes this week. However, we have thousands in our archive! Visit http://quotes.jcsm.org.
