Hello! I pray that you're having a great week. First, I'm sorry that this message was sent on Sunday evening. JCSM moved from San Diego to Los Angeles on July 30 and 31. It took quite a while to move and our internet services weren't hooked up until today. When I checked my email today, I had 1169 messages. Needless to say, it has taken some time to catch up! Please pray that we are functioning at 100% soon (e.g. we unpack and find everything) and that we take care and time with each email. Would you like to work with other Christians? Countless believers are becoming successful and helping one another with this great program. If you're a Christian who wants business success, visit http://christiansuccess.org/chip! My wife is having a surgical procedure next week. Please pray that everything goes well. Welcome to the new readers of this message! Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you! Love in Christ, Jason Gastrich Contact Us: http://jcsm.org/contact.php
JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to listen!) Psalm 18:2 "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Malachi 3:6a "For I am the LORD, I do not change;" Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." Insight: God does not change. Although your circumstances and your life may change, you can trust in the One who does not. He is your Rock and your sure foundation. Prayer: "Dear Lord, bless us. Help us understand how awesome You are! There is no other like You. Thank you for being an unchanging God. Thank you for expecting the same thing from us all throughout our lives. Help us to obey You and follow your ways. You are good and we need You. Praise You for your power and might. Forgive our sins. Thank you for your mercy and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen."
There is no new quotation this week. However, we have numerous on our web site! Please see http://jcsm.org/AmericasFounders/ for a large and growing list of quotes from those that influenced America's foundation!
When I'm awake You see what I'm thinking.
Give your thought life to God. Recognize that He sees and knows your thoughts and submit them to Him. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
autos (Greek, see Hebrews 13:8): self, one, together, same
The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Genesis 28:13-14 - God repeats the same (land/progeny) promise that he previously made to Abraham (13:15, 15:18, 17:8). Once again, the promise wasn't kept. The descendents of Jacob (the Jews) are not particularly numerous, have seldom possessed much of the land in question, and the nations on earth haven't been blessed by them. "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds: The descendants that are promised refer to spiritual descendants that trust God (and later, Jesus Christ) for their salvation. There is a very large number of people who fit into this category. This land will always belong to Israel. Under King David's rule, they possessed all of the earthly, promised land. All of the nations of the Earth have been blessed through Jesus Christ - the person of this seed and the prime reason the genealogies and prophetic statements regarding lineage matter. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and explains over 3,000 difficulties regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org. There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
There are no new quotes this week. However, we have thousands in our archives! They are located here: http://quotes.jcsm.org.
