From June 19, 2001 through July 28, 2001, I went on a 40 day fast. This was an awesome time of closeness with God. Here are the things I recorded.

If you've never fasted, I hope you pray and consider it. God doesn't call everyone to a 40 day fast, but He does call everyone to fast. His Word (in the Old Testament and New Testament) is obviously telling us to have times of fasting. God has blessed me tremendously through my fasts, so I'm simply sharing these things with you.

I'm thankful for the ways God has worked in my life. I'm an ordinary person with a supernatural God inside of me. There are many believers in this world and anyone with Christ can do what He desires. I'm not any better than any other Christian - we have the same Holy Spirit of God!

Lastly, the Bible records several public and private fasts. Some people are wondering why I'm telling anyone about my fasting. I've simply told people for two reasons: 1) so they could pray for me as I fasted and 2) so they could be encouraged to follow God's command to fast.
