"We Are the Persecuted Ones" - #349
Hello!
I hope you had a great weekend.
Have you heard about Clean Films? They send edited DVDs to your doorstep! Try them for free for 15 days and see what you think. I really enjoy their DVDs because the profanity, violence, and nudity has been edited! Rated R movies are changed into G rated movies and nothing important is lost! See here: http://jcsm.org/CleanFilms.htm.
We have given away a number of free email accounts through our believeandrepent.com domain name. Do you have yours, yet? If you'd like one, please go here: http://believeandrepent.com.
Please pray for my friend named Farnam. He is a new believer and I will be baptizing him on Tuesday. Please pray that Farnam dedicates his whole life to Christ and lives for Him alone. He used to be an atheist until he discovered Christ through a few books like the Bible, "A Case for Christ," and "A Purpose Driven Life." It's awesome to see Farnam excited about Christ, trusting Him for his salvation, and taking a step of faith and obedience through baptism.
Audio Street is the new MP3.com. They host up to three MP3 files for anyone with an email address. I've uploaded the gospel and a brief audio sermon about alleged Bible contradictions. You can hear them and see more about Audio Street's free service if you click here.
Did you hear how Urban Outfitters promotes a t-shirt that says voting is for old people? It's a pretty sad state of affairs. Many politicians and local leaders have encouraged them to remove the shirts from their shelves because it promotes an anti-youth message. In fact, MAY (Mobilize America's Youth) has started a petition against these shirts. You can see more about it here: http://mobilize.org/urbanpetition.asp.
A free sample of my book has been on Download.com for one year. In that time, it has averaged 3.3 downloads per day. We also have a handful of people downloading the sample from our site each day. Please pray that these numbers increase and more people get blessed!
Recently, I've been receiving a bit of persecution for my beliefs. I've been called a liar for believing the earth is young and that God created it. My worship music has been attacked. Even my link to CleanFilms.com has been criticized! It's amazing to see how people, generally unbelievers, can belittle others for the silliest things. Please pray for me and for the rest of the believers that suffer for their faith in Jesus Christ.
Chuck Missler came and spoke to our church this week. Most of my quotes below are from his lecture. Please pray for Chuck and his ministry.
This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On JCSM, there are over 70,000 web pages of pictures, forums, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals, and much more!
JCSM has encouraging sermons, exciting debates, and the Bible on MP3 online and you can freely stream and download them! Come and listen at http://sa.jcsm.org.
If you consider yourself either a theological scholar, a seeker, or a student of the Word, then you'll enjoy the Inerrancy Discussion Board. It's the #1 place for discussing the inerrancy of God's Word! Come and see: http://www.inerrancy.com (the Inerrancy Discussion Board is sponsored and administrated by JCSM).
Would you like to support God’s work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. JCSM's Weekly Devotions (click here to
listen!) John 15:20, 21 "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not
greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.
If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they
will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me." Matthew 5:10-12 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for
righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you
when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you
falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your
reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:43-46 "You have heard that it was said, You shall love your
neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless
those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who
spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in
heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on
the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what
reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?" James 1:2-4 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various
trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let
patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking
nothing." 1 Peter 4:16 "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian,
let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter." Insight: When you are persecuted for your faith, stand strong.
God will empower you and bless you. He will even reward you when you get
to Heaven! Prayer: "Thank you for blessing us, Lord. Praise You for
being faithful to us as we are persecuted. Help us to stand strong.
Thank you for giving us a different perspective on life and persecution.
Let us be godly people that are unashamed of our beliefs. Thank you for
warning us about the persecution that will come to us. Help us to prepare
and be unwavering in our biblical beliefs. You are our God. We will
not deny You. In Jesus' name, Amen." George Mason (1725-1792), was a famous American
Revolutionary statesman and delegate from Virginia to the Constitutional
Convention. He was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, a lawyer,
judge, political philosopher and planter. He was the richest man in Virginia,
owning 15,000 acres in Virginia and 80,000 acres in the Ohio area. George Mason
was the author of the Virginia Constitution and the Virginia Bill of Rights. He was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention of the
United States, but refused to sign the Constitution as it did not sufficiently
limit the government's power from infringing on the rights of citizens. George
Mason disapproved strongly of the slave trade and mortally hated paper money.
He disliked the idea of a strong federal government as he feared it would usurp
the sovereignty of the individual states. He is called the "Father of the Bill of Rights," as he
insisted the Congress add the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments), to the
Constitution. His influence has gone worldwide, as virtually all succeeding
constitutions have incorporated the pattern he set forth. The first ten amendments to the United States
Constitution, limiting the power of the government, are practically his and may
be found expressed in the Virginia Bill of Rights which he wrote: Virginia Bill of Rights June 12, 1776: "Article XVI That Religion, or the Duty which we owe our
Creator, and the Manner of discharging it, can be directed only by Reason and
Convictions, not by Force or Violence; and therefore all Men are equally
entitled to the free exercise of Religion, according to the Dictates of
Conscience; and that it is the mutual Duty of all to practice Christian
Forbearance, Love, and Charity towards each other." - June 12, 1776, Virginia
Bill of Rights. Catherine Millard, The Rewriting of America's History (Camp
Hill, PA: Horizon House Publishers, 1991), p. 145. "Our Christian Heritage,"
Letter from Plymouth Rock (Marlborough, NH: The Plymouth Rock Foundation), p. 3. George Mason, stated before the General Court of Virginia: "The laws of nature are the laws of God, whose authority
can be superseded by no power on earth." - In an address before the General
Court of Virginia. Russ Walton, Biblical Principles of Importance to Godly
Christians (Marlborough, NH: The Plymouth Rock Foundation, 1984), p. 358. David
Barton, The Myth of Separation (Aledo, TX: WallBuilder Press, 1991), p. 200. "It was this phrase, of George Mason's which later became
incorporated in the Declaration of Independence as 'the laws of nature and
nature's God.'" - Russ Walton, Biblical Principles of Importance to Godly
Christians (Marlborough, NH: The Plymouth Rock Foundation, 1984), p. 358. David
Barton, The Myth of Separation (Aledo, TX: WallBuilder Press, 1991), p. 200. In his Last Will and Testament, George Mason wrote: "My soul, I resign into the hands of my Almighty Creator,
whose tender mercies are over all His works who hateth nothing that He hath made
and to the Justice and Wisdom of whose dispensation I willing and cheerfully
submit, humbly hoping from His unbounded mercy and benevolence, through the
merits of my blessed Savior, a remission of my sins." - In his Last Will and
Testament. Robert C. Mason, George Mason of Virginia - (Citizen, Statesman and
Philosopher) (New York: Oscar Aurelius Morgnor, An address Commemorative of the
launching of the S.S. Gunston Hall at Alexandria, Virginia, January, 1919), p.
10. Catherine Millard, The Rewriting of America's History (Camp Hill, PA:
Horizon House Publishers, 1991), p. 151-152. The next time you are persecuted for your beliefs, remember that it is
illegal to worship God in some countries. In some places, it is illegal to
read a Bible in public. Some people are tortured for their faith in Jesus
Christ. Pray for these people. Pray for those that are being persecuted. Seek to live a Christ-like life in
a way that you are so bold that you receive some persecution. nooce (Greek): understanding - the intellect, that is the mind (divine or

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected
and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Genesis
7:20 - The flood covered the highest mountain tops (Mount Everest?) with
fifteen cubits to spare. Where did all the water come from? Where did it
all go? Why is there no evidence of such a massive flood in the geological
record? "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained"
responds: Before the Great Flood, the
Earth was relatively flat. The water came from the water in the
water canopy. This water is in our oceans, today. The
pre-flood world didn't have these oceans. Even evolutionary
theories teach that there were numerous local floods throughout the
Earth's history. This is how they explain sea shells and aquatic
fossils at the tops of the highest mountains. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible:
Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and
explains over 3,000 difficulties regarding the entire Bible at
http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org.) 10 to the 50th power is considered an absurd possibility. 10 to the 650th power is the chance of a hemoglobin molecule forming by
chance. The chances of hemoglobin happening by accident is the same chance of one
person winning the state lottery 90 days in a row. God isn't subject to the constraints of time. All nations East of Jerusalem write from right to left. All nations
West of Jerusalem write from left to right. These quotes came from God, me, and Chuck Missler. Do you need more quotes? We have thousands in our archives! They
are located here:
http://quotes.jcsm.org. These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are
directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of the quotes are
humorous or rhetorical, others are written from sermons and Bible studies, and
some
are lyrics from songs. If you’d like me to go into more detail on any of them,
please email me. Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I’ve written
in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply
the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don’t sell my
quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you
may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English
metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all! Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is
tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and
the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and
spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions
continue to be written religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the
readers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much
in advance! Do you want to help people receive the good news? We’re
reaching new people every day with God’s awesome Word! If God has blessed you
and you wish to send a love offering to JCSM, please send your gift to the
address below. You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep
these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web
pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones
and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with
Jesus Christ. We’re certain there will be more ways to reach people in the
future. JCSM is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. If you wish to contact us in the mail or send support, please make checks
payable to Jesus Christ Saves Ministries. Here is our mailing address: Jesus Christ Saves Ministries 3219 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. #212 San Diego, CA 92117 Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to
churches, Christian ministries and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do
counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and
everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on
the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work
and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions! For more about me and my service history, go to
God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
