The Weekly Devotion (click here to
listen!) Proverbs 3:5, 6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on
your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
your paths." Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the
LORD require of you Matthew 5:3-12 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be
comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be
filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the
peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who
are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil
against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for
great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were
before you." John 13:34, 35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one
another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all
will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Romans 10:9, 10 "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation." Insight: There are many vain philosophies even among the most rational
people. Why? Well, intelligent philosophies that deny God and the
Word of God are not intelligent at all. Think biblically. Read the
Word and adopt godly philosophies. They will be far better than anything
the world can devise. Prayer: "Thank you for giving us the greatest philosopher of all
time as our Lord and Savior. Help us to read and understand His teachings.
Thank you for His love for us. Bless us and make us like Jesus. Give
us more faith and wisdom. Help us to apply knowledge correctly.
Increase our knowledge of the Word and of You. Thank you for meeting us
where we are and taking us where You want us to be. To You be all the
glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus' name, Amen." Richard
Stockton (1730-1781), a signer of the Declaration of Independence, was a member
of the Continental Congress, 1776, an associate justice of the New Jersey
Supreme Court, 1774-76, as well as a member of the Executive Council of New
Jersey, 1768-76. In his Will,
Richard Stockton wrote: "As my
children will have frequent occasion of perusing this instrument, and may
probably be peculiarly impressed with the last words of their father, I think
proper here, not only to subscribe to the entire belief of the great leading
doctrine of the Christian religion... but also in the heart of a father's
affection, to charge and exhort them to remember 'that the fear of the Lord is
the beginning of wisdom.'" - In his Will. Edward J. Giddings, "American
Christian Rules," p. 463. Stephen Abbot Northrop, D.D., "A Cloud of Witnesses"
(Portland, OR: American Heritage Ministries, 1987), pp. 431-432. Are your favorite philosophies, sayings, and adages from the Bible or are
they from the world? Which philosophies do you live by? Which ones
are effecting you the most? Get some exercise! With all of the extra eating we do over the holidays, it would be wise to get
some vigorous exercise. If possible, take a friend who needs exercise as

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected
and Explained "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims: Genesis 6:16 - God tells Noah to make one
small window (18 inches square) for ventilation. "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained"
responds: This may be correct if your
cubit was the same as Noah's cubit. Cubits were typically measured by the
length of one's arm. Noah was likely a very large man and his cubit was likely
much larger than this. Furthermore, simply because there are no other specific
commands for ventilation, this doesn't mean there wasn't any. There was likely
an area under the ark that was indented, causing it to stabilize and causing
fresh air to be injected into the boat with each wave or surge. (This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible:
Corrected and Explained", by Jason Gastrich. This book is on CD and

in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply
the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don’t sell my
quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you
may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English
